Title: AVP Premium Audit - Everest Risk Consulting Company: Everest Insurance Company Job Category: Operations Job Description: The Director of Premium Audit reports to the Vice President of Everest Risk Consulting and directly contributes to the company's bottom line finalizing all final audit premium adjustments while ensuring regulatory and bureau state compliance. This position is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the entire premium audit team, audit team procedures, annual department budget, audit services provided, management of audit vendors, contract negotiation and management, cost/expense management, management of program administrators managing their own audits, test audit results and satisfactory compliance, internal/external/stakeholder satisfaction, policy/endorsement administration and compliance, SIU and Collections audit trial appearances and settlements, continuous staff development and training, technical proficiency and continuous drive toward automation and efficiencies. Job Functions & Scope * Compliance - Organizational compliance of all bureau state audit rules and regulatory compliance in all 50 states * Metrics / Management Reports - Track and measure department metrics, including production, quality and time service for entire team (audit reviews, audit processing, audit completion, audit compliance, audit timeliness and audit quality). * Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Development - Develops the Premium Audit annual budget, applying analytical and strategic forecasting skills to the determination of required headcount, IT investment needed, and other key budgetary, forward thinking and planning efforts. * Contract Management - Responsible for third party licensed audit software (PAM) contract and compliance * Manage vendor contracts and program administrator contracts to assure current contracts, evidence of insurance and procedures are in place, implemented & managed. * Vendor Management - Responsible to assure the delivery of effective, timely and quality audits through a combination of vendors and Everest Program Administrators. Development of adequate vendor resources and Everest staff (where approved) to effectively manage the delivery of audits. * Process Design - Plan and manage the delivery of premium audit services to Everest underwriting units and policyholders in a timely, cost-effective and quality manner, to support accurate premium adjustments. To achieve this goal, it is expected that this position will deliver these services through a network of approved vendors, vendors selected & used by Program Administrators, or Everest staff reporting to this position for each assigned Everest business unit. * SIU / Collections / District Attorney Collaboration - Responsible for providing detailed analysis on all criminal and premium fraud cases, court appearances as the custodian of record on behalf of Everest, and attending settlement conferences. * Training and Development - Responsible for providing quarterly feedback and production totals to audit reviewers and staff auditors * Attend industry and bureau meetings * Team Management - Write up and perform annual employee performance reviews to be submitted to Human Resources * Determine and allocate employee merit increases and annual performance bonus amounts based on performance * Recruit, network, and hold interviews for adds to staff and new hires * Underwriting Program Management - Liaison for designated Everest programs Underwriting contact for questions and concerns Qualifications, Education & Experience: * Minimum of 7 years of field premium auditor experience of Commercial Insurance (P&C) including Workers Compensation, General Liability, Comercial Auto and Inland Marine audits in several states * Minimum of 5 years managing or working with premium audit vendors * Minimum of 5 years in a staff management role including management of internal QC processes / review staff * Minimum of 3 years working with Large Accounts, incuding High Deductible, Composite Rated, Loss Retro Incurred, and Guaranteed Cost Policies * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, particularly in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or Finance * Ability to travel (Estimated 15-20% of time) * Familiarity of premium audit software, various system audit reports and work management systems * Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, including influencing and negotiation skills * Ability to perform presentations / public speaking * Ability to testify as an Expert Witness in court on behalf of the organization as a custodian of record Knowledge, Skills & Competencies * Proficiency in Audit and Inventory Management System software(s), Advanced Excel (e.g. V Look-ups, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas), Business Process software, and other MS Office Suite applications required. * Maintain strong technical skills sufficient to respond to emerging issues/changing regulations and guide Everest policy regarding Premium Audits. * Strong leadership skills * Efficient problem solving skills * Influencing abilities through verbal and written communications * Strong communication skills and business professionalism in handling disputes * Analytical abilities with new regulations, assembly bills, and excessive amounts of data * Networking skills are a must Type: Regular Time Type: Full time Primary Location: Remote, NJ Additional Locations: Orange, CA, Remote, NY, Warren, NJ As an effective team member, employees at Everest Insurance must champion the Everest Insurance Culture: * Collaboration: Open and transparent communication with customers and colleagues * Thoughtful Assumption of Risk: Supporting the Everest goal of carefully writing profitable business by ensuring data quality, prompt and accurate feedback to Underwriters, and operational control throughout the enterprise. * Execution: Delivering outstanding support to the organization through strong day-to-day business operations, effective project management, and careful oversight of vendors. * Humility: Caring and respectful approach to service colleagues, customers, and the community. * Leadership: By example, every day.
