Position Summary Were looking for a skilled Staff Accountant that can help with both the transactional accounting work in NetSuite, as well as assist with NetSuite set-up and implementation. Experience in NetSuite is a must . An understanding of QuickBooks Pro Plus 2020 (the current accounting platform) is preferred.On-going accounting responsibilities include creating and documenting accounting procedures and policies, working with to calculate and pay sales tax, posting A/P to A/R, as well as bank deposits and bank and balance sheet reconciliations. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with hands-on accounting in rapidly growing, mid-sized firm. You will be one of three employees in the Accounting Department, reporting into the CFO.Your first 60-90 days will be spent working with the existing team to learn the current accounting policies and procedures in Quick Books, as well as the supporting systems e.g., Salesforce, Avalara, etc. Concurrently, the firm will be configuring and implementing NetSuite, which you will help support.Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties/Responsibilities Help manage all accounting transactions: A/P, A/R, recurring entries, etc.Help with monthly, quarterly and annual closingsAssist in publishing financial statements on-timeReconcile accounts payable and receivableHelp calculate, confirm and book Federal, State and Local taxes, including Sales Tax.Assist with Balance Sheet auditsReinforce financial data confidentialityComply with financial policies and regulations

Education and Experience 3 5 years work experience as an AccountantExcellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Intellectual curiosityHands-on experience with accounting software like NetSuite and QuickBooksDeep MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tablesExperience with general ledger functions, including Fixed asset and Equity roll-forwardsStrong attention to detail and good analytical thinkingExperience Accounting & Finance or relevant degree

Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment This position performs its duties from our Orange, CA office. This position operates in a professional office environment and role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, mobile devices, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to type, scroll and use computer equipment. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection of text/data in both print and electronic forms.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Days/hours worked are dependent on the workload at the time. General availability and presence in the office is expected during regular business hours from 8am 5pm Monday-Friday. However, some flexibility is allowed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel There is no major travel requirement for this position. However, infrequent travel may be necessary to visit remote office(s), attend conferences/industry events, etc. Attendance at our annual corporate Staff Retreat is required, which typically takes place in December. This 2-3-day retreat takes place locally in Southern California.
