ABOUT THE TEAM The Sand Table team at Anduril develops our revolutionary platform for visualizing future defense scenarios. We transform massive amounts of data into an intuitive, interactive 3D command center, serving as the visual interface for mission simulations, a key business development tool, and a powerful demonstration of our advanced capabilities to government and military leaders. The Sand Table team manages the complex logistics for delivering flawless augmented reality demonstrations in headset to critical stakeholders. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Carbon Extensibility Engineer, you will be the expert practitioner of our internal extensibility framework. You will spearhead the development of the primary Sand Table plugin, effectively building a powerful "modding" capability for our mission-critical simulation software. WHAT YOU'LL DO Architect and develop the core Sand Table plugin using our Carbon extensibility framework, leveraging your expertise in both low-level C++ and high-level TypeScript Partner closely with artists, designers, and systems engineers to extend Sand Table's capabilities, integrating new data sources, user interactions, and visual features Become the subject matter expert on the Carbon extensibility layer, providing guidance and creating robust APIs that empower other teams to build upon your work Dive deep into the engine's C++ foundation to understand its architecture, identify extension points, and ensure your plugin code is performant and stable Write clean, high-performance, and maintainable code that seamlessly blends the power of a real-time engine with the flexibility of a modern scripting environment Diagnose and solve complex technical challenges at the intersection of the core engine, scripting layer, and artistic workflows REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Professional experience in game engine development or a related field involving real-time 3D simulation Strong proficiency in C++ and experience working in large, performance-critical codebases Solid experience with TypeScript for scripting, tooling, or application development A proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including artists and engineers from other disciplines Ability to write clean, maintainable, and extensible code with an eye for creating robust APIs Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively on ambiguous, open-ended technical tasks Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Direct experience creating or working with modding communities and toolkits for games Experience with API design and SDK development Familiarity with 3D math and real-time rendering concepts Experience shipping a AAA game title US Salary Range $191,000 - $253,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
