United States of America - California, Orange Job Summary * Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department. * Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments. * Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. * Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches. * Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization. * Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience. * Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. * Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit. Degree required. Minimum Requirements * Bachelor---s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management * Experience administering projects in accordance with different public agency requirements. * Previous experience managing construction projects that include working in light rail, passenger rail or freight rail right of way. * Knowledge of railroad construction requirements and coordination * Ability to organize and manage contractors on complex projects and coordinate with public agencies * Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, public contract code * Experience evaluating and negotiating contract change orders * Knowledge of custom contract administration and documentation software * Working on projects that include significant bridge construction and rail construction. * Experience performing cost estimates on change order work Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Business Development and proposals * Demonstrated success keeping contract on schedule and under budget * Knowledge of scheduling software and reviewing time impact evaluations * Experience coordinating utility relocation work in Southern California What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
