position will lead all the IT change and problem functions of
AVANGRID within the Infrastructure, Operations and Communications
(IOC) Team. Reporting directly to the IOC Senior Manager of
Operations and Processes, the Change Control and Problem Manager
will ensure an excellent change control and problem management
program to lead technological delivery while meeting compliance
requirements. The Change Control and Problem Manager oversees the
day-to-day execution of the IT change management processes and
policies. This includes auditing policy compliance, championing
procedural participation, reporting effectiveness in key
performance indicator (KPI) and metrics attainment, analyzing
change management process improvement for effectiveness and
efficiency purposes, communicating on a thorough and consistent
basis throughout the IT organization, and address to problem
management related but not limited to P1 incidents. This role will
bring IT knowledge, future vision, leadership, management
abilities, process design skills and business acumen to transform
the Change Control and Problem Management function. The successful
candidate will possess problem solving and decision-making skills
together with excellent management and change management best
practices skills.
-- Responsibilities ---Responsible for managing the overall
implementation and integrity of Change Control functions, tests,
policy, standards and procedures in compliance with AVANAGRID
operating companies' requirements.Leads activities to plan,
organize and manage areas responsible for local Change Control.
---Leads all local change advisory boards (CABs) through the RFC
process life cycle, including the local emergency CAB (ECAB).
---Participate in all company CAB and ECAB meetings and responsible
to review and express risk assessment on behalf of local operating
companies.
---Acts as lead for Escalated Events impacting change to the
environment.---Audits to ensure that change implementers are
updating change records accurately and in a timely manner and takes
necessary actions to ensure compliance and minimize risk.---Reviews
change requests for completeness, from documentation to
post-implementation review and takes necessary actions to ensure
compliance and minimize risk.Produces, oversees and controls the
change schedule reports related to local and company activities,
while focusing on describing the impact to AVANGRID
services.---Partners with the appropriate IT liaisons to ensure an
improved and clear communication of services and applications
impacted by IT change activities.---Negotiates scheduling conflicts
based on business priorities and storm instances.
---Arranges/facilitates appropriate change management team
meetings.---Manages the incident and problem analysis for possible
consequences of a change and its implementation.---Monitors trends
and reports on change management process metrics.Communicates
modifications to the change management and IT community.
---Define and measure success metrics in relation to value added
and monitor change progress.Collaborate with company peers to
ensure consistency in change management processes where applicable,
while taking in consideration AVANGRID based regulatory
requirements.---Performs storm mode change control administration
to ensure that no changes are performed to AVANGRID systems during
storms.---Manages standard or preapproved change policies that
support business objectives while ensuring the integrity and
availability of vital IT Systems and Services that support the
business and meet local compliance requirements.
Arranges/facilitates appropriate team meetings post a major
incident.---Facilitates the incident and problem analysis and
documents subject matter experts' potential solutions and
implementations to minimize the changes of the issue repeating.
Responsible to provide such report to IT senior management - Major
Incident Report (MIR).
---Addresses root cause analysis related but not limited to P1
incidents, while applying problem management best practices.
---Coordinates all IT Governance documentation related to change
management.---Provides internal IT organization training on the
change management process and facilitates the necessary
meetings.---Performs yearly responsibilities of change management
to the IT organization to fortify the change management processes
and policies while emphasizing compliance policy.---Evaluates
change management process compliance with audit requirements by
tracking and monitoring identified regulatory artifacts.
---Works with all IT Governance teams to ensure proper reporting
and metrics are obtained.---The change manager will also support
project teams in integrating change management activities into
their project plans.---Champion best practices in a high-volume,
dynamic environment. Ensure the enterprise has the capability to
support new technology and maintain high levels of service. Create
a sustainable IT environment to facilitate growth while maintaining
required regulatory compliance and end user requirements.
-- Skills and Requirements ---Bachelor's degree in computer
science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent
work experience.
---7+ years of broad-based experience in technology.
---3+ years of leadership experience in an enterprise technology
environment.
---2+ years of compliance experience.
---1+ years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance
(GRC) concepts.
---5+ years of change management experience.
---2+ years of incident or problem management experience.
---1+ years of incident, problem or change workflow automation tool
experience a plus.
---Proficiency in working in a complex, dynamic and multicultural
business environment.
---IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification (Foundation-level
v2 or v3).
---Understanding of infrastructure technologies - server, database,
network, storage, security and management technologies.
---Experience with the following technologies: ITSM systems like
Service Now.
---Advanced history managing change and problem management
process.
---Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding
customers.
---Proven experience providing senior management reporting
level.
---Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work
activities and meet target deadline.
---Ability to communicate with and influence technical and
non-technical customers, colleagues, and vendors.
---Ability to share knowledge and mentor and manage less
experienced team members.
---Travel within the US and to Europe could be required from time
to time.
---Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.
