Job Description:
Position: Group IT Program ManagerReports to: Group IT
DirectorPosition Summary: The Group IT Program Manager will oversee
the portfolio of IT projects related to IT business applications,
software development and infrastructure. The Program Manager will
lead projects and programs through the project lifecycle from
initiation to project close.The Program Manager will leverage a
hybrid Agile/Waterfall methodology to plan, execute, and close
projects, within scope, schedule, and budget. The Program Manager
is responsible for coordinating and managing teams across various
Summit departments, third-party contractors or consultants. This
position is expected to manage our clients largest, most complex,
strategic institutional, infrastructure projects and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead project and program assessment phase from
project charter to RFI/RFP and through Statement of Work (SOW) and
Master Agreement (MA) contract negotiations
- Lead business and IT management in scope alignment and
definition sessions, identify program critical success factors and
drive mitigation of significant issues and risks
- Define effective program management processes, structure,
roles, and responsibilities to successful execution and delivery of
business objectives
- Manage multiple technical teams providing technology and
methodology leadership ensuring the delivery of IT solutions to
high impact business opportunities
- Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues,
conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
- Lead the successful implementation of medium to large scale IT
programs
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements
documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including
project team, sponsors, and stakeholdersOther Functions and
Responsibilities:
- Develop trusted advisor relationship with project and program
stakeholders, sponsors, and business managers
- Anticipate opportunities to collaborate with other departments
on strategic project and program management initiatives through
regular interactions
- Deliver quarterly roadmaps, critical path analysis, resource
requirement estimates
- Provide regular and accurate updates and escalations to project
stakeholders, sponsors and IT management.
- Collaborate with technical area managers in the supervision of
project and program personnel, which includes work allocation,
training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make
recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to
achieve peak performanceWork with the IT manager to ensure project
and program deliverables and documents are uploaded and archived
and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is
updated.Minimum/Core Requirements:
- Minimum seven years direct work experience in a program and
project management capacity, including all aspects from planning to
execution and close
- Experience in managing enterprise wide, complex infrastructure
projects and programs
- Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals,
recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary and
negotiating vendor contracts
- Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and
program team sizes, including internal and external resources,
while holding team accountable for performance
- Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and
demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral with
technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
- Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executive's
sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers
- Solid understanding of IT technologies, trends,
interdependencies, and challenges
- Flexible, with proven ability to conform to shifting
priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and
problem-solving capabilities
- Technically competent with various software programs, including
but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Visio), Microsoft Projects, ServiceNow, and Lucid ChartEducation /
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a subject area related to computer science
or engineering field. (5 to 7 years' experience in areas above if
no bachelor's degree)Desired:
- PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Agile Scrum knowledge or certification (e.g., Certified Scrum
Master, PMI - Agile Certifier Practitioner)
