Apply now to see where your career at CHOC Children's can take you.Job SummaryThe Vice President of Strategy and Business Development plays a critical role in working with senior leadership and physician leaders to formulate the organization's long-range strategic plan. The Vice President will collaborate in all areas of strategic and business planning relative to developing, directing, and communicating strategic planning, partnerships, and any potential mergers and acquisitions. These efforts are geared to position the organization as a prominent children's institution by expanding clinical, research, education, foundation, and business opportunities. The position directs the development and maintenance of market intelligence database and is responsible for market forecasting, competitive analyses, and financial evaluation for existing and new service lines. The Vice President collaborates with entities and individuals across the health system to shape and lead business development efforts in support of strategic initiatives that include enterprise growth and development, new programs and business ventures, care delivery innovations, corporate partnerships, and other strategic relationships. Additionally, the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development serves on various management and advisory committees that provide leadership and strategic direction on matters related to physician alignment, product/technology innovation, programmatic development, care delivery re-calibration, and licensing guidelines.Experience--- Required: Minimum 15 years of experience in a hospital/healthcare leadership position with significant experience in strategic planning, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and a proven track record of achieving both organizational and personal goals. ---- Preferred: Experience in a pediatric hospital, large pediatric division within an adult hospital, and experience supervising staff is preferred.Education--- Required: Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or related field.--- Preferred: Formal training in facilitation, project management, or organizational development a plus.Training--- Required: N/A--- Preferred: N/ASpecialized Skills--- Required: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; must possess the ability to converse effectively, prepare written and oral presentations, proposals, analyses, and other documents in a manner readily assimilated by the target audience. Ability to set SMART goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards; develop new ideas and utilize technology. Promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission. Understand and exceed customer expectations. Exceptional facilitation and consensus-building skills.Able to mentor and coach in the advanced style of management. Ability to manage, mentor, coach, and lead others. Possesses excellent numerical and analytical skills. Able to successfully assess and implement multiple projects simultaneously. Able to asses business development opportunities for maximizing benefits. Innovative problem-solving ability. Applied understanding regarding the hospital/healthcare market as well as the political and business aspects of program growth. Skilled at both conceptual and strategic thinking as well as the more detailed elements of program implementation and successful operations. Ability to work closely and interact well with individuals at all levels of the organization and makes business/program development an integral function within the organization. Possesses exceptional physician relation skills and is able to establish creditability quickly with the medical staff. Exceptional quantitative, negotiation, collaboration, project management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to drive multiple concurrent projects to completion in a complex, consensus-oriented environment. Excellent quantitative, analytic, financial and problem-solving skills to evaluate all aspects of a problem or opportunity and make or facilitate appropriate and timely decisions and pay close attention to detail. Skilled at both conceptual and strategic thinking as well as the more detailed elements of program implementation and successful operations. Advanced Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.--- Preferred: Knowledge of additional analytic software platforms preferred.Licensure--- Required: None
