We are seeking an Mechanical Engineer IV- Project Manager to join our team in Orange County, CA. As an Engineer IV, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. From our supportive culture, diverse workforce, and competitive compensation, to our flexible work schedules and fun social events, it is everything you will need for an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) in collaboration with more senior technical staff.Additional responsibilities include:Establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences in collaboration with senior technical staffParticipate in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of othersCollaborate with senior staff in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, staffing requirements, and project budgetsPerform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reportsProcess RFI's, Change Orders, Bulletins, and AddendaAs appropriate, manage CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned to a particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designerAssists with employee reviews as requestedWrite engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projectsParticipates in various trade organizations and prepare presentationsEstimates construction costs and to evaluate feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)Strong technical role for project coordinationCurrent PE registration would be a plusJob RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering from an Accredited Institution7+ years' experience working in a consulting firm, this is a Senior level role that requires a background in the MEP Engineering IndustryHands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience as you will have a very strong technical role and will direct staffBenefitsAs an employee with Syska Hennessy Group, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
