The primary objective of the Operating Vice President (OVP) of Outlets is to drive top line sales and profit over plan in a designated region of stores. Create a high performing and engaged organization. Lead stores to execute merchandising priorities, outlet customer service standards and each store’s profitability. High communication with Central Outlet Organization is required. Coach and develop the store leaders and teams to the Outlet Vision. Work with senior team peers to have a unified outlet execution, vision and experience across channels and stores. Travel requirement: In stores 4 days per week. Perform other duties as assigned.
Attain sales and profitability goals through effective use of short and long-range planning, expense management, and inventory shortage control. Lead store management teams to drive top-line sales over plan and champion sales plan achievement. Identify business and execution opportunities to drive sales and rapidly develop specific action plans with clear accountability. Lead the placement and management of talent, capital and expense. Drive consistent achievement of high standards of customer service and selling capabilities across District Develop and consistently coach Store Management teams to champion outstanding outlet customer service, leveraging full participation and engagement. Coach and live the fast, fresh and fun philosophy in your buildings. Empower your teams to exceed our customer’s expectations. Lead and coach Outlet Store Management team; partner with HR in talent acquisition and management Develop Store Management team’s leadership capability. Support and drive coaching and recognition initiatives. Own and drive accountability for the organizational development strategy and succession planning. Partner with HR to recruit, train and mentor top talent and move out poor performers. Ensure your teams are onboarded and trained to the Outlet standards. Drive, communicate, and oversee execution of strategy for events and day-to-day operation of stores with adherence to regional standards including: Merchandising, visual presentation, pricing, ticketing, signing, loss prevention/shortage control, human resources and operations. Be the voice of your region on collateral and execution needs. Be the leader of ground intelligence in your region on all aspects of the business (brands, pricing, events, signage, staffing). Drive the Store teams to accurate execution of the merchandising priorities at point of sale. Determine, develop and drive annual priority sales opportunities with EVP and VP / DMM & DDP for Outlets. Maximize the regional communication process through weekly conference calls. Establish priorities, drive actions and hold teams accountable. Leverage the Outlet Merchants and Planners to localize assortments by door and ensure congruency in the stores. Bring the voice of the stores and customer feedback to the EVP of Outlets on a regular basis. Coach Store Management on achieving sales goals. Maximize sales and gross margin productivity per square foot Execute ‘non-capital’ cross-FOB space allocation decisions, and communicate ideas for key vendor moves to buying teams. Recommend space allocations that require capital to EVP of Outlets. Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, 10+ years of experience. Knowledge and understanding of retail business - preferably knowledge in Off Price retail business. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills. Ability to lead and develop talent. Strong written/verbal presentation skills. Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Strong analytical skills. Reasoning Ability: Lead change initiatives. Execute off-price business strategies. Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to introduce new ideas and approaches.
