Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced
RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift position in California requiring
a current CA RN license and experience with high acuity pediatric
cases. Responsibilities - Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
(PICU) within a hospital setting - Night shift schedule with three
12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:00) - Patient population ranges
from birth to 18 years with diverse critical care needs - Care for
patients with metabolic, respiratory, endocrine, oncology,
neurosurgical, trauma, and cardiology conditions - Required to
float to NICU and CVICU, and may float to other units as needed -
Uses Cerner for documentation; experience required - Every other
weekend work required - No on-call responsibilities - Holiday
shifts are required - First-time travelers are encouraged to apply
- Locals are accepted only for 8-week assignments with no
possibility of extension - Travelers are the first to float to
other units as needed - A maximum of 10 days RTO is allowed, with
no RTO in the first week - Must not have worked within the facility
in the past year to be eligible - Completion of required online
modules during orientation is necessary - Candidates who are DNR
from merged facilities are not eligible Requirements - Active CA RN
license in hand (no pending or temporary licenses) - Current ACLS,
BLS, and PALS certifications - Minimum of 1.5 years recent
experience in high acuity/high census PICU settings - Experience
with arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO, and level 1
trauma care - Two supervisor-level references from within one year
or most recent employer in a similar unit - Physical ability to
perform advanced pediatric critical care procedures Benefits - High
