Special Projects Coordinator

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, incumbent will coordinate
and manage comprehensive plans to improve operational systems,
productivity, and Nursing related projects that will improve
organizational and clinical performance, and reduce overall
operating expenses, for the Nursing Division(s) at the UC Irvine
Medical Center. Will work to implement and maintain integrative
nursing throughout the healthcare enterprise to include inpatient,
outpatient and ambulatory areas. This position interacts with all
levels of staff, clinical and operational leadership on key
projects, assuring sufficient involvement by appropriate
stakeholders and delivering projects on time and on budget. Will
work collaboratively with the Susan Samueli Integrative Health
Institute, and the Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing.
Utilizes the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Lean
Sigma methodologies, as well as internal and external best
practices to accomplish organizational goals. This role will
function as liaison, gathering and manipulating data, and
presenting in the most effective method and format.
Rate Minimum $80,000.00 Maximum $144,300.00
Ability to effectively manage risk and ambiguity on a project.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Able to translate complex data and information and communicate it
simply and effectively to constituents.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Bachelor s degree in business or related field and 7-9 years of
Effective communicator, able to understand the needs of a variety
of audience members and tailor a message accordingly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented,
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the
successful performance of assigned duties
Prior demonstrated work experience using the principals of PMBOK
and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Proven ability to quickly develop credibility with relevant
Strong project management skills.
Lean Six Sigma Certification
MHA, MBA, or MSN
Master s Degree in business or related field and 3-5 years of
Project management certification or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Project management experience in a hospital or healthcare
