Purpose This position will lead all the IT production, data center and service management functions of AVANGRID within the Infrastructure, Operations and Communications (IOC) Team. Reporting directly to the IOC Senior Manager of Operations and Processes, the Production, Data Center and Service Manager will ensure an excellent production control, proactive infrastructure monitoring, data center management, and in-depth service management program to lead technological delivery while meeting compliance requirements. Manage and mentor staff and/or more junior management in IT Operations Center (ITOC).
The Production, Data Center and Service Manager oversees the day-to-day execution of the IT operations processes and policies. This includes auditing policy compliance, championing procedural participation, reporting effectiveness in key performance indicator (KPI) and metrics attainment, analyzing operations management process improvement for effectiveness and efficiency purposes, communicating on a thorough and consistent basis throughout the IT organization.
This role will bring IT knowledge, future vision, leadership, management abilities, process design skills and business acumen to transform the Production, Data Center and Service Management function.
The successful candidate will possess problem solving and decision-making skills together with excellent management and operations support management best practices skills. Responsibilities ---Manages and executes Storm/Critical Event Coordination and process.
---Coordinates all IT Governance documentation related to production, data center, and service management.
---Provides internal IT organization training on the production, data center, and service management process and facilitates the necessary meetings.
---Performs yearly review of production control, data center, disaster recovery, monitoring and service management procedures, emphasizing on compliance requirements.
---Interacts with IT Governance and auditors to ensure proper reporting and metrics are obtained.---Ensures the enterprise has the capability to support new technology and maintain high levels of service.---Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reliability while reducing costs.
---Responsible for budgeting for service renewals and professional services.---Coordinates the daily activities of the ITOC including develop/enhance the standards, procedures, and processes for the group.---Manages and reports on continuity management drills and processes.---Responsible of maintaining relations with IT and Business stakeholders to ensure applications inventory is accurate.---The production, data center, and service manager will also support project teams in integrating monitoring activities into their project plans.---Oversees yearly Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and ensures gaps are documented and addressed.---Monitors trends and partner with the necessary IT and/or business stakeholders to squelch repeating events/incidents.---Performs data collection for network availability, capacity planning and other service level measurements.---Responsible for ensuring incidents are registered and escalated to the necessary parties regarding the AVANGRID infrastructure and automated job schedules.---Ensures monitoring software is configured and operated in a manner that supports AVANGRID's business objectives.---Collaborates with Change Management ensuring that service modeling is successfully implemented in change processes.---Collaborates with local/global peers in IT to ensure that identified services are modeled.---Partners with facilities and security regarding data center environments.---Manages and executes Data Center Access requirements.
---Approves/denies access and records such activities to all data centers and performs audit related tasks.---Coordinates facility changes needed to support the data center, hardware architecture and capacity requirements.---Plans and manages the support of new technologies for the ITOC and data center performance, and reliability.
---Collaborates with global peers to ensure consistency in production, data center, and service management processes where applicable.
---Responsible for developing and coordinating project deployment strategy for new monitoring tools (by coordinating with Iberdrola/Avangrid Operations Teams and external suppliers).---Put in place systems so that all activities within the project are undertaken in compliance with Avangrid Group regulatory policies.
---Establish the necessary committees on a per project basis to influence direction and ensure knowledge transfer to local team.
---Conduct continuous improvement in contractual strategies and contractual terms and conditions. Skills and Requirements ---Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
---7+ years of broad-based experience in technology.
---5+ years of incident or problem management experience.
---3+ years of leadership experience in an enterprise technology environment.
---2+ years of cloud management preferred.
---2+ years of service modeling preferred.
---2+ years of compliance experience.
---1+ years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) concepts preferred.
---1+ years of incident, problem workflow automation tool experience a plus.
---Proficiency in working in a complex, dynamic, multicultural and international business environment.
---IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification (Foundation-level v2 or v3) preferred.
---Understanding of infrastructure technologies - server, database, network, storage, security and management technologies.
---Experience with the following technologies: ITSM systems such as Service Now, monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol, BPM Entuity, Spectrum, AppDynamics, Cloud Ops, DCIM.
---Advanced history managing incident and problem management process.
---Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.
---Proven experience providing senior management reporting level.
---Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities and meet target deadline.
---Ability to communicate with and influence technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and vendors.
---Ability to share knowledge and mentor and manage less experienced team members.
---Travel within the US and to Europe could be required from time to time.
---Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.
