Position Summary: The VP, Global Operations for the Consumables and Infection Prevention Operating Company will lead all aspects of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations across our global Consumables and Infection Prevention businesses to implement and execute on our global strategy. Today, we have nine manufacturing and distribution locations for the Consumables and Infection Prevention business. Six of these locations are managed directly with three locations managed as shared Corporate Manufacturing and Distribution sites. S/He will have responsibility for developing an optimal global organization and team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity targets for a $540M global Operating Company. The team consists of 8-10 direct reports and 600 associates globally with a majority of the team located in North America and Europe. Initial focus areas will include leading a complex global footprint simplification program, building capacity expansion within the Infection Prevention business, and driving manufacturing and machining process improvements across the company to enable our long-term strategy.. Key Responsibilities:. Lead global operations strategy and execution to meet customer demand within required lead times (On Time Delivery) and with exceptional product quality.. Develop a global operations strategy, geographical footprint and organization design for deployment and operation of Operating Company strategic initiatives.. Execute on long-term footprint strategy focused on simplification of global manufacturing and distribution centers.. Drive significant improvements in manufacturing and machining costs and process including the adoption and integration of new technology and automation methods.. Manage action plans (daily, weekly, monthly) for implementation, sustainment, and counter measures of operations KPIs and metrics.. Champion kaizen and continuous improvement activities for operations sites.. Utilize Lean Concepts such as: Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, SMED, DMP, VRK and other tools to create and maintain a mindset of continuous improvement.. Work within the company’s corporate quality system and ISO / FDA regulations to remain compliant.. Develop and manage the plan for preventative maintenance of production equipment.. Support the implementation of new products and processes through organic and inorganic growth initiatives.. Job Requirements:. Education/Experience:. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience leading operations organizations (machining, automation, chemical processes) with a demonstrated history of meeting/exceeding targets and expectations. 3-5 of multi-site operations leadership. 3-5 years in an FDA-regulated medical device environment preferred. 5-7 years leading a procurement organization with demonstrated results in achieving material cost productivity improvements. Bachelor's degree is required; MBA preferred Key Abilities. Demonstrated results in implementing and driving results in a lean/continuous improvement operations culture. Proven track record building, leading, motivating and developing teams, specifically during a period of organizational transformation to include:. Grow and develop organization through recruiting, selection, training, compensation and motivation of operations team.. Guide and mentor direct reports to assist in their personal and professional development.. Prior experience leading operations within a Medical Device (FDA Regulated Industry) organization at regional or global level is highly preferred. Experience and facility working in a lean/kaizen culture, with a track record of utilizing these methodologies as a competitive advantage. Acquisition integration, due diligence, and portfolio management activities in a Sr. Operations leadership capacity Key Personal Attributes. Team-first mentality. Ability to drive and/or participate in strategy development (long-term, high-level objectives) as well as translate these into tactical execution (short-term, detailed execution plans). High ethical standards and attention to reputational and compliance risks. Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced, high-stakes environment.. Managerial courage to make tough decisions without being overly sensitive (thick skinned), be able to effectively play catch ball (back and forth discussions or ideation) and think on his/her feet. Operate with high ethics and integrity, and is non-political Travel Requirements Domestic and international travel is required for this role = 50%+ primarily between North America and Europe business locations..
